bptmTape media manager used on master/slave servers and is used when the storage unit type is Media Manager. Manages the transfer of images between the client and storage devices. It also handles comms between backup and Media Manager software. Additionally, bptm manages the Netbackup media database and provides information for the media list report screen. (Lots of stuff, apparently)

ltidMedia manager device daemon; controls the reservation and assignment of volumes.
avrdAutomatic volume recognition daemon; handles volume recognition and label scanning so the system can automatically assign removable media requests to specific drives.
vmdvolume management daemon; tracks location, mount number, and mount time for each volume.
Robotic daemonsThe exact daemon name is dependent on the type of robot. These daemons run on each host that's connected to a tape library. They pass information from ltid to the robotic or to a robotic control daemon.
Robotic control daemonsThe exact daemon name is dependent on the type of robot. These daemons only run on the host that controls the robot.
